1. Tuesday nights have become ’me’ nights at home. On Mondays I’m typically away from home for 13+ hours with work and the weekly staff meeting at Life Pointe Church. On Wednesdays I only have about 3 hours at home after work and before Life Group. But Tuesdays when I get home I stay home and catch up with stuff. It’s my ‘fun’ day - my ‘I don’t have to run’ day !
2. TODAY I extended my ‘fun’ day by 4 hours and worked just a half a day. I went to Target for the first time since perhaps last December, and I went on a 90-minute shopping spree. Actually for the amount of time that I was scouring that store I didn’t really buy too many items (17). I could have really gone wild and bought 35 items !
6. I’m having a lot of fun and learning a lot too with my fresh new Panasonic DVD Recorder / VCR Combo. I bought it online at circuitcity.com a couple of Saturday nights ago, and FedEx delivered it to me (free of charge) less than two business days later ! I couldn’t believe my four eyes when it arrived that fast !
7. Since my new DVD recorder has a digital tuner I’m exploring and enjoying crystal clear digital television for the first time ever. I have 90 new digital channels (expanded basic) that I always had but couldn’t access until now. That includes 50 music channels. I dig that !
8. Last night and this morning I recorded four hours of digital television programming on DVD-RW for the first time ever. I’ve got some tweaks to make to this process. I recorded it all in EP mode (which allows for 8 hours of programming onto a single 4.7 GB DVD). The picture quality suffered a bit. I’ll have to bring it down a notch for my next recordings. I’m learning.
9. I’ve pushed back the purchase of my fresh new HP Pavilion laptop indefinitely - but not for too long. Once the initial enjoyment value for my DVD Recorder / digital television revolution begins to wind down a bit then it will be time for me to buy my next new toy - the laptop. It should happen sometime in August.
10. Bright and early this morning I was once again reminded why I rarely go through the drive-thru at the McDonald’s at the Oasis Plaza en el este de Homestead. It’s because the service is subpar. They get confused handling more than one order at a time !

THIS AFTERNOON I shaved. Why ? Because it’s Saturday !
I shave twice a week. Why do I shave twice a week ? It’s because I do not wish to shave three times a week. I had to shave every day for 8 years while I was Active Duty Air Force. I didn’t like it at all. It was 1 of the 57 reasons why I decided to get out of the Air Force when I did. Over 15 years later I’m still working for the Air Force - but as a D.O.D. civilian. I can shave whenever I feel like it, and I feel like shaving twice a week. In fact I feel like shaving on Saturday afternoons and Tuesday evenings. That’s why when you see me on Wednesdays and Sundays I appear to be rather clean-shaven. There’s about 76 hours between my Saturday afternoon shave and my Tuesday evening shave, and there’s about 92 hours between my Tuesday evening shave and my Saturday afternoon shave. A lot of hair grows on my face during those 76 to 92 hours. I like how my face feels once it’s all shaved off. It feels smooth like that !
If I decided to increase my shaving to three times a week then perhaps I would go with a Sunday evening / Tuesday evening / Thursday evening schedule. That way I would be clean-shaven on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
That just seems like a bit too much shaving for me.
It’s great to be back home in Homestead. I’ve been home for a little over 24 hours now, and I’ve used this (Satur)day to relax and return to a more normal routine.
I’m looking forward to a lot of ‘normal routine’ things during this upcoming week. I’m looking forward to serving at Life Pointe Church for 3 hours starting at 7:25 AM tomorrow (Sunday) morning. I’m looking forward to attending the 10:30 AM service right after that. I’m looking forward to blogging the ‘Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad’ on here tomorrow afternoon. I’m looking forward to returning to work at 6 AM on Monday morning. I’m looking forward to the weekly staff meeting at the Life Pointe Church office suite right after work at 4 PM on Monday afternoon. I’m looking forward to a visit from the Orkin dude on Tuesday afternoon because he keeps my home bug-free. I’m looking forward to hangin’ out with my Life Group at 7 PM on Wednesday night.
I’m looking forward to all of these things and everything else in-between that makes this Life the best Life that I could ever imagine. All of these great things are possible because of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He has made this Life especially for me. I am forever greatful of Him and what He did for me, and what He is doing for me. There is no-one and no-thing that is greater than Him !
This morning I didn’t get out of bed until (a SHOCKING) 9 AM ! I’ve already set my alarm clock for 6:30 AM tomorrow (Sunday) morning. Despite the late ‘getting up’ time this morning I’m gonna try to get back to bed at a reasonable time tonight (such as 10 PM). It felt so great to be back in my own bed last night. In fact it felt so great that I was in it for nearly 12 hours (from 9 PM to 9 AM) !
May each and every one of you have a safe and peaceful Saturday night, and until we hang out again here on the blog or LIVE and in-person - remember this (and turn up the volume LOUD !):
2. I attended a nice retirement luncheon at work (picnic-style outside) for a lady / colleague who has worked at the base since the mid-1970s. The base is losing a financial wizard as she walks off into the sunset.
3. I drove straight from work over to the Life Pointe Church offices in old historic uptown Homestead. Venus and I will be starring in this Sunday’s promotional video for the continuing ‘Got Funk ?’ message series. I won’t be there to see it world premiere on the big screen this Sunday morning (showtimes at approximately 9:25 and 10:55), but I’m pretty sure that you crazy cats will tell me all about it here on my blog on Sunday afternoon. I must warn you though that this latest creation from Fuser Films Of Homestead (Jesse S.) is somewhat scandalous and downright shocking. You’re not gonna believe what comes out of my mouth in the acting role of a lifetime. This is what all of Life Pointe Church is going to be talking about out in the main lobby after both services ! You’re not gonna wanna miss it pal.
4. From the LPC offices I drove straight over to Anne J.’s and J.T.’s house for Life Group. Tonight was ‘Fellowship Night’, so we enjoyed lots of food and fun and games. We played Outburst. My team (which included Venus, Nicole, Willie, and J.T. lost 62-60). It was a lot of fun though, and that’s what really matters.
5. I got home late tonight, and I realized that I’ve got a lot of work to do tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday afternoon after I get home from work in preparation for my upcoming vacation - such as doing laundry and packing. I shall GIT-R-DONE !
But right now all I’m thinking about is getting some rest, so I’ll be shutting everything down and doing just that over the next 45 minutes or so. Have a wonderful Wednesday evening everyone, and be sure to catch me again on here tomorrow night for your ‘Thursday Night Internet Hoax Hall-Of-Shame’. It’s the one that’s gonna make you tremble in fear - or not !
You know you want it, so don’t let me be the one to deny it:
1. On this dark and stormy Tuesday afternoon in Homestead I actually heard the following overused phrase from a coworker - ‘I think this is gonna be a really bad hurricane season. This could be the worst one yet !’ Remember when Hurricane Andrew destroyed Homestead 16 years ago this August ? That was one of the quietest Atlantic hurricane seasons in modern history. It only takes one powerful hurricane to wreck havoc with your life as you know it. If we have an all-time record 30 named storms this season, yet none of them strike land anywhere near you then what kind of hurricane season is that ?
2. We’re getting a lot of much-needed rain today here in Homestead. I totally dig that. We need every last drop of it and then some to pull us out of this extended drought that we’re in. We could really use at least three FEET of rain (that’s right - 36 inches) over the next three months !
3. If you think that you haven’t seen that many mosquitoes out and about thus far this Summer then check again by this weekend. Let me know if you can feel them biting you in a few days.
5. Last Friday I celebrated the 13TH anniversary of me living here in my current home here in Homestead. This is by far the best place that I have ever lived in my entire life / Life.
6. For those of you who are new to my blog let me explain. When I refer to the last 22 months of my Life the word ‘Life’ is always capitalized. When I refer to the 39 years before that the word ‘life’ begins with a lower-case ‘l’. When I write about my ’life / Life’ I’m referring to my previous sad, miserable, and directionless life, as well as my current Life - full of glory, joy, and purpose for I have been saved and reborn again by the Lord Jesus Christ. It’s all symbolic, but it also keeps it all in perspective.
7. My next laptop will have at least 2 gigabytes of memory in it. My current laptop has exactly one-fourth that amount. I think that I will finally buy a brand new laptop sometime between now and the end of the year. I’m actually not looking forward to it. Once I buy that new laptop this blog may suddenly go inactive for about 3 to 5 days because it will probably take that long to transfer all of my files over from this laptop to that laptop and also install and configure various programs. There’s a lot of work involved there. If I knew that it would be really easy then I would probably already have a new laptop by now.
8. Ela O. called me on the telephone this afternoon, and we talked for exactly 7 minutes and 29 seconds. She made me laugh hysterically, and I returned the flavour. The telephone is my least favourite electronic device that I could easily live without; however, when I see that it’s Ela on the other end (via my Caller-I.D.) I know that I should be prepared to laugh up a storm with her. She has every reason in the world to be sad and miserable, yet she is one of the happiest and most joyful women I know in my current Life. She’s got a whole lot of purpose remaining in her Life here on Earth on God’s fantastic journey !
9. Ela tried to pull a fast one on me during that telephone conversation by telling me that I was being assigned to make coffee this Sunday morning at the Life Pointe Church Café. We have quite a few Medical Doctors and Registered Nurses that are part of our LPC family. They would be put into action and forced to go to work on their fellow brothers and sisters if I were to make coffee on Sunday morning. We would need a couple of shuttle buses to transport the victims from the movie theatre to the hospital. I stopped making coffee for the general public in 1989 - not because I made anyone sick or anything like that - but because I could. Nowadays I actually make my own instant coffee for myself on most mornings. It would probably cause irregular heartbeats for most normal healthy humans.
10. The Sun is now shining brightly and baking the atmosphere directly above my neighbourhood. That only means one thing. Prepare now for another ferocious thunderstorm with torrential downpours in about an hour.
1. I’m starting this week’s ‘Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thoughts’ at 6:21 PM. That’s the latest that I think I’ve ever started it. I just got home from a long 12-hour day of work here and here.
2. Jesse says that there’s one Mexican restaurant in particular that serves their food above all of the rest, and that’s really saying something for a place like Homestead where there’s a Mexican restaurant on practically every other block. Maybe one day Jesse will take his closest friends (including me) over to this place to experience the real deal.
3. Jesse also says that Hooters makes some of the best wings in the free nation. Since I don’t go to Hooters I encouraged Jesse to go out and get us a whole bunch of those amazing wings and then bring them back home to Homestead to share with his closest friends (including me).
4. Google may be the runaway # 1 smash Internet search engine in the universe, but I hardly ever use it. I prefer Yahoo. I’ve always been a fan of Yahoo - even before it became a household name.
5. Lysol disinfectant kills viruses, bacteria, mold, and mildew. It kills 99.9% of germs in 30 seconds. I know a whole bunch of public places in and around Homestead that could use a good soaking of Lysol daily ! I wonder what’s the deal with the remaining 0.1% of germs. Does Lysol kill them as well, but it just takes longer than 30 seconds ?
6. A lot of great pop music came out during the Summer of 1998. I just took a look at my # 1 hits from my once successful music web site during June, July, August, and September of exactly a decade ago, and it brought back a lot of good times and memories from that era. I think I hung out with my little brother a lot during that fun Summer.
7. I’ll be hanging out with my little brother in just about a month at the River Walk en San Antonio. I’m looking forward to it. It’ll never be as good as ‘the good old days’, but it’ll still be good enough. Any time with my little brother is precious time.
8. I hope that John McCain selects Mike Huckabee as his running mate, but the fact of the matter is that I will vote for John McCain no matter who he selects as his Vice Presidential running mate.
9. I prefer paper clips over staples. That reminds me. I need to get on over to Office Depot to buy some more paper clips of assorted shapes and sizes.
10. I’m ending this week’s ‘Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thoughts’ at 7:12 PM. It took me less than an hour to come up with everything that you just read within this blog entry. That’s how spontaneous this is. I had nothing before I started, and now I have this creation. I created this masterpiece, and I used the skills that were provided to be by my Creator - the Creator of all things that exist - God. He’s good like that. He’s amazing like that. There is no one and no thing that is greater than Him !
It’s 8:44 PM on a Wednesday night as I begin tonight’s edition of the ‘Bedtime Stories’, and I’m gearing up for a MASSIVE day at work - a MASSIVE day of meetings ! I’m actually looking forward to it, as my career renaissance continues. The past 10 months has been the best 10 months (by far) of my entire 23-year Air Force / Department Of Defense career. It goes hand-in-hand with the best 21 months of my entire Life. I look back at August 2006 as the official month of my ‘Awakening’. It’s been ready-set-GO ! ever since being reborn on God’s fantastic journey for me.
Friday kicks-off the long Memorial Day holiday weekend, and I’m not going anywhere special. I’ll be right here blogging up a storm, so hang out with me if you have no special plans that will whisk you away to some exotic land far far away with no Internet access.
Tomorrow on the blog it’s our top-rated weekly feature - the ‘Thursday Night Internet Hoax Hall-Of-Shame’. Tomorrow I promise you no long horrific chain letter E-Mail that most of us already know is bogus. Instead I bring you a picture - a picture of an adorable cat - an adorable cat that measures 5 feet 9 inches in length and weighs in at 87 pounds ! Is it for real ? Gather up your crew and surf on over to the blog tomorrow afternoon to see for yourself !
Don’t forget about the ‘Friday Night Blogroll Review’ where I go public with my favourite blog entries of the week from my favourite bloggers that are near and dear to me. I’m pretty sure that this dude and this dude and this dude will be on there, and I’ve also reserved a spot for this girl and this girl.
So that’s what’s comin’ up over the next 48 hours here on the blog. Have a wonderful Wednesday night everyone, and until we blog again remember this:
It’s the Summer replacement series for ‘The Major’s Walk-A-Thon’ which is now on seasonal hiatus. It’s … ‘Saturday Morning Shenanigans’. This should be a fun weekly series for all of us.
Saturday morning is pretty much the only morning of the week when I don’t have to set my alarm clock to wake-up earlier than I would if I didn’t set my alarm clock. During the week it’s typically set for 5:10 AM, and it typically wakes me up. On Sunday mornings it’s usually set for 6:30 AM, but I usually wake up before that time. And then there’s Saturday mornings - no set alarm clock, but I still wake-up before the dawn. I think that it has everything to do with me totally being ‘a morning person’. I’ve been waking up between 4 AM and 6 AM for the past 30 years. Before my current Air Force / Department Of Defense career I delivered newspapers early in the morning before school.
This morning I ventured on over to Florida City (where all of the food is at), and I ate a MASSIVE breakfast at the Cracker Barrel courtesy of my longtime waitress Debbie. Incidentally Debbie is one of the few good people that was an integral part of the last few years of my previous life who is now a part of my new Life. Oh yeah - the meal was livin’ large and outrageously scrumptious. This just in - I’m up a pound or two to 166.
Saturday mornings are also ’laundry mornings’ in my household. Every 38 minutes I’m washing a new load of dirty clothes, and every 48 minutes I’m drying a new load of clean clothes. I’m efficient like that.
And so there ya go - the debut edition - the pilot episode if you will of ‘Saturday Morning Shenanigans’. We’ll do it all over again next week, and in next week’s edition I’m gonna reveal a secret passion (and talent) of mine that developed over the course of a decade of Saturday mornings back in the 1970s into the 1980s. It’s a ’can’t-miss’ episode that all of Life Pointe Church will be talking about the next day at Homestead Bayfront Park. You won’t want to miss it pal !
You’ve been waiting about 168 hours for this to come around again, and so here it is. LIVE IT UP !
1. We were treated with a rare mid-May cold front here in South Florida late last night. After sizzing hot temperatures approaching the mid-90s over the past several days we plummeted down to the refreshing low-60s (!) this morning, and this afternoon we’re struggling to reach the mid-80s ! I dig that !
2. Call me crazy, but “Cotton Eye Joe” by Rednex may just be the greatest hillbilly techno smash ever made. You can watch the original 1994 music video of it via my ‘Bedtime Stories’ from last night.
3. Last week’s ‘Thursday Night Internet Hoax Hall-Of-Shame’ became our most-read blog entry ever within about 48 hours of its posting. Many of the top search engine terms that have brought all of this big-city rush hour traffic over to my blog include the stores Bed Bath & Beyond and Circuit City - and the words ‘bankruptcy’ and ‘hoax’. Thank You fans of both of those stores for discovering my blog and realizing that it is indeed an Internet hoax. Your stores are open for business. We’re actually getting a brand new Circuit City right here in Homestead !
4. I ate more popcorn in one sitting at Travis and Kelly’s house this past Sunday night during the “Survivor Micronesia” finale than in any other previous sitting in quite possibly my entire life and Life. I actually don’t like to eat popcorn, but once I get started with it I become addicted to it. 250 kernels of popcorn later …
5. The grass is always greener where the sprinklers are - and where the dogs go to play.
6. I gave blood this morning at a local medical facility in Downtown Homestead. The lady that drew the blood knew what she was doing. She had that needle in and out of my arm cleanly in no time flat. She got what she needed, and I was on my way with no pain or jaundice this time around.
7. I wasn’t at work from 6 to 10 AM this morning, and during that time I was a wanted man. It seems that everyone needed me and nothing was working right during my absence. Lines began to form around me upon my arrival at work. I nearly had to issue out numbers on little paper tabs.
8. I enjoyed Breakfast with my blogging brothers Travis and Phil this morning at the Cracker Barrel in Florida City (where all the food is). We mainly discussed blogging and bloggers. Travis and I agreed that LL Phil J’s blog is being subsidized by both of our blogs. It’s all good.
9. Incidentally I totally adore eating MASSIVE meals with buddies who also adore eating MASSIVE meals. If you’re gonna sit at my table at the restuarant then you best be eatin’ good in the neighbourhood. That’s what I’m talkin’ ’bout !
10. I’m grabbing at straws for this week’s 10TH ‘Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thought’, and that begs me to wonder why would you grab a bunch of straws in the first place ? If you’re indecisive and don’t know what to do or where to go next then just do something. Put the straws down, and seize that moment. It could be the moment that defines your future and determines how everything else will evolve from that moment forward. Know what I mean, Gene ?
Greetings my friends, and welcome aboard to the Friday night edition of ‘Bedtime Stories’.
Here’s a few ‘quick hits’ for you:
+ Friday May 09TH has become the ‘best day ever’ here on this blog, as we’ve shattered every record in the book for a single day in our history. We shattered the previous Friday record for unique hits by well over 40%, and we beat the previous ‘best day ever’ record by over 10% !
+ This comes hot on the heels following the best Thursday ever !
+ Yesterday’s edition of the ‘Thursday Night Internet Hoax Hall-Of-Shame’ has totally blown up on the Internet. It is expected to become the most-read blog entry ever in our history in just a few more days !
+ It’s Day 4 of my 4TH cold over the past 6 months, and I am now on the road to recovery. I can actually breathe out of both of my nostrils. My voice is still weak, but I expect it to come around to normal by Sunday morning.
+ I worked a long day today - over 9 hours without a lunch break. When I got off of work at 3 PM all I wanted to do was to eat food, so I hopped on Florida’s Turnpike and headed southbound because all of the food is in Florida City. I found it at the Cracker Barrel. While I was waiting for my food I passed the time away by texting a message to LL Phil J’s cell phone. It was an ‘UnTwitter’ message.
+ I watched 3 excellent episodes of “Survivor Micronesia” back-to-back-to-back this afternoon, and now I only have one more remaining (last night’s episode) before I am all caught up. I’ll be able to watch the three-hour season finale extravaganza LIVE this Sunday night starting at 8 PM on CBS-TV ! I’M SAYIN’ !
OK that’s ‘Bedtime Stories’ for you. Be sure to hang out on the blog tomorrow (Saturday) for more fun and surprises !
Have a safe, peaceful, and blessed evening with your loved ones.
1. I drove from Homestead to Orlando this morning with a crew of about 16 (including kids) from Life Pointe Church. We took 4 vehicles with us (including mine). This is the longest one-day road-trip my car has been on since the first couple of weeks of March 2007 when I drove all the way up to the northwestern suburbs of Atlanta Georgia for a work-related conference.
2. I paid a record-shattering $3.799 per gallon for gas along Florida’s Turnpike. 10.660 gallons of it went into my car, so that came out to a mind-boggling $40.50. I never thought that it would cost over $40 to fill up my fuel-efficient Saturn with less than 11 gallons of gas !
3. Venus pointed out to me several times that perhaps my driving is just a wee-bit on the conservative side for her personal tastes. In fact she hinted that I drive like an old retired Floridian. She stated that she likes to hang out on the road with her ’speeding buddies’. I inquired as to why she’s always late for everything if she’s always speeding. I also suggested that she leave much earlier to get to her destinations so that she wouldn’t have to speed, and she would arrive alive on-time.
4. To ‘rubberneck’ is to unnaturally turn your head at pretty much a 90° right angle and essentially stretch your neck so that it looks like it’s made out of rubber. When you’re driving along and everyone drives real slow so that they can examine the aftermath of a bad accident along the side of the road most people stretch their neck and hence ‘rubberneck’. Venus and I discussed that for a few minutes as Anne J. took a well-deserved nap.
5. This is the first time since November 2006 that I’ve been here in Orlando. Once upon a time in a previous life not quite so far away I used to visit this city 3 or 4 or 5 or more times per year. Orlando used to be my playground - my home away from home - my South Beach - my Panama City Beach - my Cancun.
6. Actual proof that it’s been awhile since I’ve been here in Orlando is the fact that I’ve made the wrong turn on at least 3 or 4 separate occasions right along the north end of International Drive - a road that I used to roll on quite frequently during a decade of fun.
7. I’m attending the 2008 National New Church Conference here in Orlando. It’s also known as the ‘Exponential’ Conference - subtitled ‘The DNA Of Reproducing Churches’. I took a whole bunch of notes ‘chicken-scratch’ style during the first afternoon of sessions. Eventually I will decipher my notes and then transpose them into a separate blog entry that is most worthy to be included within the prestigious ‘Tossed Salad’ brand name here on this blog. Judging by how many raw notes I took this afternoon alone this may turn out to be a multi-part mini-series of ‘Tossed Salad’ editions rather than one big one. It’s all good. There’s a lot of learnin’ goin’ on here, and the funnest part of learnin’ is sharin’ the knowledge. Knowledge Is Power ! Power Is Fame !
8. Pastor Travis and Pastor Paul are recording their notes from the conference via the new and modern way - directly onto their laptops on-site - and in Travis’s case - directly onto his blog and-or his Twitter. Believe it or not in the specific breakout session that I personally attended on blogging we spent a good 10 minutes talking about Twitter. That word - ‘Twitter’ - must have been uttered at least 50 times. Before P.J. introduced the entire Twittering concept to me and his tens of fans via his blog I had never heard that word spoken before in my entire Life.
9. Our entire crew met up at Giordano’s for dinner over in Lake Buena Vista (very near the far-eastern entrance to Walt Disney World). We ate a bunch of their ‘World Famous Stuffed Pizza’, and in no time flat we were pretty much stuffed, walking funny, and making wacky sounds with our bodies. I took my Lipitor a good 5 hours later than normal. Better late than never - especially after this potentially heart-damaging meal ! Paul - Remind me to give you my Doctor’s business card upon our return back home to Homestead.
10. I couldn’t possibly have more genuine fun here in Orlando than I did today, or on any other day that I’ve spent here in Orlando over the past 15 years. I am so totally humbled and blessed to be able to participate in this wonderful experience along God’s fantastic journey.
Greetings Friends. It’s time for the 30TH edition of the ever-so-popular ‘Bedtime Stories’ series here on this blog. ‘Bedtime Stories’ is kind of like my version of ‘The Tonight Show‘ - a long-running staple that you can always depend on to be there with a fresh new edition on most nights.
The ‘Life Pointe Church Sunday Morning Tossed Salad’ is pretty much my ‘Meet The Press‘ on here. If it’s Sunday - then it’s ‘Tossed Salad’ day !
I’m not the only dude that recaps his Sunday morning experiences at Life Pointe Church. Pastor Travis created the concept. Check out his ‘Sunday Wrap-Up’. Trav’s real bro Phil (P.J.) has run with his ‘Sunday Life Pointe Talk Soup’ for 5 weeks now. And then there’s the ‘Ritz Crackah‘ who has his ‘Sunday Goosfaba’. (’Goosfaba’ is a variation of ‘Goosfraba’ which is an Eskimo word that was made famous in the 2003 box office smash ‘Anger Management‘.)
I’ll be back at work bright and early tomorrow morning to kick-off a fresh new week at my job. I’m making it a special point to get away from the base during the Lunch hour to finally get a haircut and then to eat Chinese Food for Lunch. Be sure to check out ‘The Fortune Cookie Message Of The Week Club’ tomorrow (Monday) afternoon.
Have a safe and peaceful Sunday night everyone, and until we hang out again here on the blog remember this:
Greetings Friends this is ‘Bedtime Stories’ on this Thursday night - brought to you by the new 1959 Chevrolet Station Wagon !
This is the 4TH and final blog entry for this day. 4 blog entries in a single day is my self-imposed maximum limit. I’ve done that on many days since this blog started, and I’ve never gone past that limit. I figure that if I’m posting 5 (or more) blog entries in a single day then I’m probably spending way too much time on my computer !
It’s another hard day at work for me tomorrow, but the cool thing is that it’s Pay Day Friday, and the final day of the work week. I’ve got a busier than normal weekend planned. On Saturday night I’ll be dressed up in near-formal attire for the night. Maybe I’ll get myself into some pictures so that I can post some of them on here so that all of you can see what I look like when I try hard enough to look the very best.
Be sure to catch the blog in action tomorrow afternoon. I’ve got the ‘Friday Night Blogroll Review’ in full effect featuring some of the best blog entries of this past week from some of my favourite bloggers that are near and dear to me and this blog. Please remember that there is to be no wagering as to which specific blog entries and bloggers will make the hot list.
Have a safe and peaceful Thursday night everyone, and until we hang out again on here remember this:
Good Evening Friends it’s time for a quick late-night edition of the ‘Bedtime Stories’ on this glorious Wednesday night.
I just got home from Life Group at J.T.’s and Anne’s house. Food, Fellowship, and God. That’s how we roll on Wednesday nights, and it all leads back to Him - The Lord Almighty - Up Above. There is no other bigger, better, and more powerful than Him. We believe. We receive. We have taken Jesus at His word. We have accepted His control of our Life. We are acting in obedience to His instructions. It is all about Him.
Pastor Paul left a voice mail for me at home this afternoon while I was at work. He told me to call him as soon as possible. I did so as soon as I got home. He had an interesting and exciting opportunity that he wants to share with me later this month. I’m 100% sure that I want to take advantage of this incredible experience to further my progression on God’s fantastic journey, and I’m about 90% sure that I can take a few days off from work to do it. I’ll find out for sure tomorrow at work when I complete a leave form and turn it in to my supervisour. If he accepts and approves it then I’m there !
Be sure to catch this blog in action tomorrow afternoon. I’ve got your ‘Thursday Night Internet Hoax Hall-Of-Shame’ for you sometime after 4 PM. It’s a common bathroom product that kills germs dead, but can it also kill blood-sucking mosquitoes dead on contact ? We’ll find out together tomorrow !
Until then I wish you all a safe and peaceful Wednesday night. A new day arrives in the morning, and it’s another glorious opportunity to chase that daylight and seize every moment that comes your way. Do it all for Him.
And so we have right here right now the Tuesday night edition of ‘Bedtime Stories’ - brought to you by Zicam.
My unexpectedly long Good Friday / Easter Sunday holiday weekend will soon come to a close as I pray to God and lay myself to sleep in about 2½-hours. I’ll get about 6 hours of sleep tonight, and then I’ll wake up at 5 AM tomorrow morning and be at work by 6 AM. I’m looking forward to getting back to my desk at work and catching up with everything there. Once upon a time I dreaded going to work, but now I adore it.
I saw the International Space Station and the Space Shuttle Endeavour over the eastern skies of Homestead tonight just after 8 PM. It was so cool watching the Space Shuttle play tag team with the ISS up in Earth’s orbit from practically sea level.
I bought my very first atomic radio-controlled clock today. It picks-up its signal from the NIST signal out of Fort Collins Colorado. I now know exactly what time it is, and I can set my watch and VCR clocks to its precise time.
FedEx delivered my fresh new 2GB iPod Shuffle from Apple late this afternoon. Now I can get to work and fill that thing up with today’s hottest Christian rock, pop, and hip hop hits !
And that’s how I roll tonight with my ‘Bedtime Stories’. Be sure to catch this blog in action again tomorrow for some more cool stuff, and don’t forget that Thursday night is ‘Internet Hoax Hall-Of-Shame’ night. Until then remember this:
It’s after 9:30 PM EDT on a Monday night, and in just about an hour or so I’ll be headed to bed for another 6½ hours of sleep (if I’m lucky). I’ve got another busy day in store for me at work, but I love my coworkers and I love my job. The last 8 months at work have been by far the best 8 months of my entire 23-year Air Force career ! Thank You God for blessing me with that !
Thank You God for also blessing me with the talents necessary to create and maintain this blog every day. I recently received another nice comment regarding this blog. It was again referred to as a ministry. Since all of my friends already attend Life Pointe Church I am using this blog to get the good word out on my best friend Jesus Christ. He is glorious. He is almighty. There is no other like Him. If you wish to get to know Him then just let me know. I’ll tell you all about Him. I’ve got plenty of time to share with you what He has done for me. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you live, or what you do. He is ready to meet you.
Have a safe and peaceful Monday night everyone, and I’ll check you all out here on the blog tomorrow afternoon.
Until then remember this:
John 3:16-17 (NLT, 2ND Ed.)
“For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.
Greetings fellow bloggers - those who read and those who write. It’s time for the Sunday night edition of ‘Bedtime Stories’ - brought to you by Cookie Crisp cereal.
Here are some things that I resolve to do during this upcoming holiday week:
Wear a green shirt tomorrow to celebrate my Irish heritage in honour of St. Patrick’s Day. (I’m 50% Irish in case you didn’t know.)
Eat Chinese food for Lunch tomorrow to celebrate my love of foods that are green - such as broccoli.
Go to Publix tomorrow afternoon after work to do some serious shopping for food. Yes Venus and Kristina - even though I don’t cook my own food I still eat food.
Be sure to return back here tomorrow afternoon for another fun-filled day here on the blog. I may even have a fresh new edition of ‘The Fortune Cookie Message Of The Week Club’.
It’s just after 8:30 PM EDT on this wild and crazy Monday night, and I just got home from a full day of work (at the base) and even more work (at the church office) about an hour ago. I am so totally exhausted after this nearly 14-hour day away from home, but it was the funnest day I’ve enjoyed in recent memory ! I had an awesome time at both places of work.
It was fun hangin’ out with Travis, Paul, Jesse, Alex, and Anne (you need a blog too) at the church office this afternoon, and I now have a ton of new stuff that I need to set up on my computer here at home to get started with my new position as Life Pointe’s ‘Director Of Cool’ as Pastor Travis is tentatively referring to it, or as the ‘Director Of Life Pointe Connections’ as I am tentatively referring to it (until I come up with something even more catchier or at least relevant).
I’ll get it all ready and organized by this upcoming Saturday night. I’ll need to because I go to work and hit it hard on Sunday afternoon after I return home from the two services with everything that I need to do to get connected with everyone. I’m really looking forward to it all.
Well that’s what I’ve got for tonight as far as ‘Bedtime Stories’ is concerned. It’s my only blog entry for this Monday. I’ll be back on the blog tomorrow (Tuesday) after 4 PM with my most-anticipated ’Tuesday Night Grab Bag O’ Thoughts’.
Have a safe, peaceful, and relaxing Monday night everyone, and until we blog again remember this:

I got off from work at 11:30 AM this morning, and it was the completion of another wonderful week.
The leadership of my building (including me) worked on a major time-consuming project all this week - a grande PowerPoint Presentation that was pretty much all about us and the work that we do. We did it in preparation of a ‘welcome briefing’ for one of our new Commanders on base. That briefing took place this morning in our building’s Conference Room. It began at precisely 9 AM, and it lasted for nearly 2½ hours. I think that we totally blew away our new Commander with the show, and he was most appreciative of the effort. At one point during the briefing the top guy of our building unexpectedly told me to stand up, and then he proceeded to shower me with praise upon praise for a couple of minutes regarding many of my various accomplishments since arriving in that building just a little over 4 months ago. That made me feel so great !
After 20 years I’ve finally found a place on base for me where I actually look forward to going to work each and every morning. At the end of each work day I always look back at it feeling sincerely happy and totally satisfied that I gave it my all, and that my fellow co-workers truly appreciated what I did for them during the course of the day. I finally have co-workers who consistently respect me for my technical expertise and experience.
I am so truly greatful to God to be living in this current life of mine - the Renaissance of my personal life - as well as the Renaissance of my professional career. There’s no looking back now to what my life and career used to be. It’s all about what it is in the now, and this now shall continue infinitely as long as I continue to progress forward on God’s fantastic journey for me !
